One of the fundamentals of leadership is about saying "Yes!" When you say yes, it opens possibilities, it opens opportunities, it opens dreams. In 2013, after a lifetime of struggle with obesity, I said yes to a life-changing bariatric surgery. Within 12 months from the surgery, I had lost over 100 pounds. In 2014, I said yes to the goal of completing a marathon, something I hadn't done in over a decade. In 2015, I said yes to the goal of playing lacrosse for the University of Southern California. I was 43. In 2016, I played my first of four years with the Trojan's. Saying yes in 2013 to that surgery enabled be to say yes to goals I never even dreamed of. If you want to lead by example, start by saying "Yes!"
